About the event

Join the Salt Lake City Department of Public Lands and Central Ninth Community Council for an open house, February 18, 6-7:30 p.m. at Publik Coffee (975 S. West Temple), to explore two design concepts for Jefferson Park. The event will be held in collaboration with community partners, Ballpark Community Council, BallparkNext, and Mead Up.

Jefferson Park, a three-acre Public Utilities’ detention basin facility and public park in the Central Ninth Neighborhood, will undergo improvements to make it a safer and more welcoming space. Developed directly from community input, the concept designs include new amenities such as a perimeter walking path, gathering areas with seating, native and waterwise landscaping, lighting, and additional features.

At the event, you can view the designs, learn about the improvements, and provide feedback through a new online survey (which will go live on Feb. 18).

This park revitalization project is funded by $750,000 from the Parks, Trails, and Open Space General Obligation Bond and by a $530,000 constituent Capital Improvement Project award.

Please pass this invitation along to anyone who may be interested.
