Thank you for helping to make the 12th Annual Official Pie and Beer Day a roaring success!

A small group of neighbors started the Ballpark Action Team just two years ago when the Bees announced their departure, devastating our neighborhood. We had a clear goal in mind: bring engaging events to the Ballpark to honor our past and actively shape our future. With your support, we knocked this one out of the park!

Pie and Beer Day was the first large-scale event held in the Smith's Ballpark since the departure of the Bees. Thousands of people from across the Valley experienced what is possible for the future of the stadium and the Ballpark neighborhood.

★ An estimated 7,000 individuals attended, not including children under 12.

★ 57 local businesses took part in the festivities.

★ 21 local breweries and 21 local bakeries shared over 8,000 sample sized pairings of pie and beer - all donated.

★ Nicholas provided a $100 supply credit to each baker, and 6 vendors offered free or deeply discounted services or

products.

★ Free entry for kids under 12, low cost pizza ‘pie’, donated root beer, and ginger ale brewed specially for the event

made it very family friendly, thanks to Intermountain Health.

★ Extensive media coverage included 6 live updates, a front page story in the Salt Lake Tribune, and coverage on

Spanish language TV; all sharing the power of the community, the joy of Pie and Beer day, and future plans for the

stadium.

★ A kickball tournament that included a battle between Nick Rimando’s ‘Mis-feets” and the Salt Lake City Fire

Department's ‘Ash Kickers’ brought the roar of the crowd back to the stands.

★ More than 200 people, including 77 BAT volunteers, gave over 700 hours of their time to host this event. 8

community nonprofits had booths to promote their services.

★ $7,500 was raised for BAT, with an additional $10,000 of critical in-kind services provided by Cornerstone

Productions. These funds will support future community events at the Ballpark, including a Pow Wow in partnership

with the Urban Indian Center and a handful of events this Fall.

Plans for next year are already brewing!

★ Our volunteer bakeries and breweries will have the opportunity to sell pie and beer in addition to their donated

pairings. There will be prizes for best beer, best pie, and best pairing.

★ We will take full advantage of the field with games, kickball and who knows - maybe a pie-shaped bouncy house?

★ The evening will end with a Blues Festival, and an all-attendee Harmonica Army play along. Just wait.

The Ballpark Action Team is committed to our vibrant and engaged community, and your participation in Pie and Beer Day 2025 strengthens our mission. We are grateful for the generosity and creativity of ‘Bad’ Brad Wheeler, and to all the people and organizations who share a love for pie, beer and our ‘hood. Thank you.
